Hi all, been diagnosed since Xmas 2005 and always struggled. Type 2 insulin dependent. Fasting normally around 11/12. Just lately 14/15/16! Have developed lactose and caffeine intolerances, and may well have a gall bladder problem too as plenty of pain after a meal. Running out of things to eat. Any advice or suggestions? Feel awful right now. So hot and tired. Thoughts?

Hi @Porsche911top ,

Welcome to the forum.

Firstly, if you haven't already? Get your suspected gall bladder issue consulted with a doctor...

What is your general current dietary choices & options?
What insulin type & regime are you prescribed? Are there any other meds?

Hope you can resolve these issues soon..

Gosh, Porsche, those numbers are running a bit high. That can't be helping with how you feel.

Unfortunately, for we T2s, an awful lt of out care and treatment is about what we eat and drink, even when taking meds.

What sort of things do you like to eat and drink, and I'm sure there'll be folks with ideas for some tweaks or changes.

In addition to the above reactions, how do you decide how much insulin to take? What does your doctor say about your insulin doses? Do you get occasional hypo's or lows too, or are you running high all the time? The amount of insulin needed varies a lot from person to person.
