I have been keeping track of my blood sugar because i have some but not all of the typical symptoms but a1c is concidered in normal range. i noticed this morning at 1 hr i was at 8.7 164 is this supposed to be normal. this was after a glass of milk and cereal.

i also notice that my bs slowly climbs all day untill its in the high 7s low 8s by the time i sleep,
morning readings are usually about 6.5-8 but they do usually drop to low 6s after a hour or so

thanks in advance for any replys.

ps i know when my bs is climbing higher because my eyeslids feel tight is this common

Hello, could you tell us your hba1c please? Non diabetics do have peaks and do spike after eating, whether you come down after that meal is another story. In my opinion you're not doing too badly because you drop after eating, it'll be worrying if you stayed at high 8's and continued rising. However maybe you could consider another type of breakfast, cereal and milk is considered high in carbs. I cannot comment if any non diabetics or diabetics experience tight eyelids. Some symptoms of high BG in diabetes is thirstiness, tiredness, peeing a lot, hungry, in extreme cases of DKA - vomiting. Your best bet would be seeing your doctors again for further information or get more tests done.
