5.3% Hb1ac

Hi guys,

Recently diagnosed type 1 here.

If my Hb1ac results come back as 5.3%, is that a good score? At the moment my average blood sugar is 5.8mmol.

Hi JoeOns

Hba1c of 5.3% is a non-diabetic range. If you can achieve that without having many bad hypos, I would say that is a very good score. Hba1c is an average score it doesn’t tell us how wide the fluctuations were.

I hope you are managing your BS level without too many problems :-)
