Patient on maximal tolerated therapy for diabetes

In my case maximal tolerated means that if the dose us increased i start to get side affects that I can't tolerate

If you have not reported side effects then the only oerson that can tell you its true meaning is your gp

Hello, ive just seen this on my medical record, anyone know what it means?

My interpretation would be you are on the highest dose of meds, for maximum benefit, without side effects or harm.

That is my personal interpretation. Your Doctor may have meant something else.

Hi, I am type 2 diabetic patient. I have observed the same. I have been on maximum allowed dose of medication for a number of years. This has not been effective enough to control my blood sugar level to acceptable levels. I have been advised recently, that If by next review I still have not been able, with appropriate food diet, to lower my sugar level, I would have to start to use insulin injection. Something I try hard to avoid. I am very concerned and worried about this. I hate injections. :-(

I agree that there is a limit, maybe with many meds. I find that I may be reaching tolerance level with my insulin re: hypo anxiety, insomnia, muscle injury I tried lowering it a bit and I think by body likes it better-- things that rare easily confused or really effects of other drugs. I have had the misfortune of lack of diabetes guidance with regard to dosages.

Hi @mkashani , welcome to the forum!
You've posted on an old thread where it won't be seen by many people.
Would you like me to move your post to a thread of your own?
