Hi

I am new here so please excuse me if I don’t get it right.

I have type 2 diabetes last sugar sample was still up at 7 but had dropped a bit from last test. Comfort eating is my problem!

That was just a bit about me

I work in an office and am due to return to work on Monday after a week away in the Scottish Borders. I have heard that a member of staff had gone home with suspected Coronavirus the symptoms came on quick. They had been in contact with quite a few staff that day. I am now worried that I could be at risk if I go in that others may not have shown symptoms yet but could be harbouring the virus.

As well as my diabetes I have had pneumonia once and have to take inhalers since. Almost got it twice and I have unstable angina which I take statins and other medication for including a gtn spray to use when needed. With all this do I have a valid case to say I don’t feel safe to go in until no one in the building shows signs in the next 14 days? The job I do doesn’t make it easy to work from home even though I would be happy to work from home. I am concerned they will refuse to pay my full wage.

Apologies for the long message but need advice.

I do of course have issues with my weight and sugar control but I will leave that for another time!

Thank you for your time

I’d be calling my manager and discussing the guidelines. (See my signature) You’re definitely at a raised risk from the main part of the population and if in the highest of the three groups should get a letter this week advising you so.
