I’m really confused, my dr surgery said I don’t have to isolate for 12 weeks even though I’m type 2 & it’s not under control, I work in care so have a greater risk & I don’t know what I should be doing

Type 2 alone do not need to shield. Some uncontrolled type 2 with high hb1ac are however receiving these letters. Usually these are around the 77 or 79mmol range. If you feel you should have got one I suggest you contact your dr and discuss.

Its also a very good reminder to review your management of the condition. I see you are new to the forum. Maybe we can help on that front. My signature has some links that describe how many of us in here manage our condition well with our diet, often without meds or with big reductions in them. Have a read and come ask questions.

Perhaps another call to clarify shielding would help in that case.

But whilst waiting for the hospital referral please do read the links I mentioned. It’s entirely possible you might not need it if there are dietary changes that you could make. Your dr might not be aware of how effective they can be. And low carb is now endorsed as effective by the nhs too.
