2 years ago i was diagnosed as Type2 and lymphoma
HBA1C was 49 a

shifted 3 stone of weight just following a whole plant based diet
sorted the cancer out ( animal protein promotes all cancer)

no eggs/meat/fish/oil/salt etc zero processed food pretty much the weight dropped off me

include in your daily diet G-BOMBS
Greens Beans Onions Mushrooms Berries and Seeds

the above it becomes the norm, i dont worry about the carbs , potatotes etc , just don't want them fried
what i observed bad fats just clog up your internal organs fat in liver fat in pancreas etc
shift the fat you need less insulin

2 years on still kept the 3 stone off and still HBA1C in the thirties

this is just what worked for me..

I am pleased you are well, @mark3evo.
Did you also have chemotherapy? Can you tell more about Lymphoma? Hodgkins? Non-Hodgkins?

animal protein promotes all cancer

Tell that to

Linda McCartney – Paul McCartney’s first wife, died of breast cancer.
Robin Gibb – of the Bee Gees, died of stomach cancer
Adam Yauch, Beastie Boys, died of cancer
Harvey Milstein, proponent of the raw food hygiene movement died of colon cancer
George Harrison, Beatle, died of lung cancer
Eva Ekvall, Miss Venezuela, died of breast cancer age 29
Vihara Youkta, dancer and wife of famous raw foodist Viktoras Kulvinskas, died of cancer.

All vegans

A particular diet does not necessarily promote cancer or protect us from cancer.

Congrats for beating cancer and diabetes, @mark3evo. Fabulous achievement. I'm sure cutting out a lot of the processed foods will have definitely helped.

I am not sure, though, that meat and fats are what causes cancer, fatty liver and atherosclerosis though. If you are interested in looking some of the science, you might want to google Dr. Robert Lustig (for fatty liver), Ivor Cummins (for atherosclerosis) and Virta Health (for diabetes, but also markers of fatty liver and coronary heart disease).

Many of us T2s on this forum are on a low-carb/ketogenic diet and have seen tremendous improvements on all of these blood markers.

So, again well-done on all your hard work. I'm happy you are so much healthier now.
