Type 1 or type 2?

Thank you. I've also been reading about lada type. So now wondering which out of the three I have. Lol. Hopefully when I get test for antibodies back the doctor can tell me for sure.

LADA is basically a slow-onset Type 1 in adults. (Latent Auto-immune Diabetes in Adulthood) Often misdiagnosed in early stages as T2 especially if you present as the classic middle-aged, obese, non-exercising kind of person I did who then spent two years protesting I was doing absolutely nothing to lose weight the way I was doing (Mind you, some of it has come back again and lockdown is not helping that one) and nor was I lying or cheating about my food/exercise as everything began spiraling out of control despite strict low carb, loads of walking, and ever-increasing oral meds.

There are other types of diabetes as well, but I won't add to the confusion.

I spent 10 years diagnosed T2 even though I was 35 at diagnosis not overweight and never been and not under active. This year I’ve been reclassified as T1

So in my case it was probably very slow onset T1 either way I think I ready OP was on insulin already which is probably best until a proper diagnosis is given.. either way if you are told you are T2 still keep an eye on your heath and question it at your annual checkups as that may change...

T1 get much better treatment that T2 so if you are T1 you want to be officially classed that way
