Isolation note - Scotland and stranded

Although a thoroughbred Scot, I'm not in Scotland, but I would think ACAS Scotland would have a good grounding on how the land lies, for you and others like you.

Good luck with it. It sounds like you could do with a decent break coming your way.
I got through to ACAS Scotland, very apologetic and upset but currently unable to help due to workload and staff shortages ,understandable.
Oh well, no letter, no job, no income, but plenty of milk and eggs, found a jar of honey !! and only 2 weeks before tesco deliver.
Chins up folks

well six an a bit weeksafter being told to shield my sheilding letter arrived in the post today !! although the text system isnt workig atm I rang and registered my mobile number, with a human. I explained our situation and have been told we would get food parcels as of next week and priority home shopping slots ( should the driver be able to find us ).
I emailed my employer a scan of the letter but he's not interested. So I have started a universal credit claim, things are looking up .
Stay safe folks

Getting the food in sounds positive at least. Hope things do start to work out for the better.

"Contact through Local Authorities PHS has provided local authorities with the names, CHI numbers and addresses of the people in their area who are in the shielding group."

This is the lengthy address of the people who provide shielding support in Scotland. Perhaps you could contact them.

Really sorry about your work situation, but glad you've finally got your shielding letter. Hope the food parcels arrive ok. If you try to get a priority home shopping slot, and the site still doesn't recognise you as a priority customer, it's worth ringing the supermarket and explaining you've got a shielding letter, as there still seems to be a lack of information being passed on/checked by the supermarkets. A friend did this, and it was sorted in 48 hours.

Well things have changed a bit , some for the better. I got a phone call for the local authority asking if we were all ok , anything we needed and had we heard from the supermarket. So nice to talk to someone else rather the wife , goats chickens, dogs etc etc !!
Our first food box arrived a phone call to say they were at our gate and could I come down to collect it , the chap was quite insistent that I come down.
Quite a surprise to see an Army landrover and two privates, a good blether and two food boxes !

On the employment side of things, after applying for U credit I had a phone call from the DWP , I was "encouraged " to look at my HMRC personal tax account , so I did. That was quite a revelation, needless to say I have been given some financial support whilst things are investigated and a decision made. (eX) Employer may or may not have been very naughty ..........
