Good morning everyone.
I have a question.......
I have been watching my diet very carefully for the last 3 months ( low carb) to try and bring my bs levels down and reduce my IR. I have lost nearly 2 stone in that time and am testing before and after meals and also on waking ( fasting) and before bed.
I am seeing a definite trend with my numbers and although they are coming down slowly I can’t work out what is happening.

I am told that fasting numbers can be high because of dawn phenomenon and then will start to come down? I have the opposite problem. My bs keeps going up in the morning until after I have eaten something and I just wondered why this is. I normally only have 2 meals a day, brunch ( 12 ish) and supper ( 7ish) but worried if my bs keep going up I should eat earlier?
below are reading from yesterday which are running about average for me....

Fasting. 7.7
Before brunch. 9.2
+ 2 hours. 8.7
Pre supper. 5.7
+ 2 hours 7.6
Pre bed. 6.8

just to say on no meds for type 2 - numbers 3 months ago were between 12 - 17.5!

thank you.

I find the same and it just continues to rise, so I make sure I eat in the morning and often skip an evening meal. If I do have an evening meal and it is late (after 7) then it seems to affect my FBG in the morning. Not sure why we are all different but may be worth eating each meal earlier? I’m sure someone will he along with a scientific explanation.

What are you eating? Have you tried eating 3 meals a day but fewer carbs in each meal?
I stayed on 3 meals and a snack because I found I couldn't eat more than 30g of carbs in a single meal at first, and was getting better results if under 25g per meal but was fine spreading my carbs out in smaller meals (I was on 85g a day at that point).

Normally have a mushroom and cheese omelette at brunch ( egg and bacon at the weekend) supper is either meat/ fish with either green veg or green salad with homemade dressing - olive oil, lemon tiny bit of whole grain mustard. I do have 2 Strawberries and a small spoonful of Farge yogurt for pud! I try to stay around 20 carbs or under a day
