Type 2 Blood sugar

I like to be below 6 at all times.. last one was 3.4 this afternoon but I haven't eaten much since Saturday due to an upset tum.

Hi @Diane_56 - The table below outlines the NICE guidelines for desired sugar levels for those with T1, T2, and so on.

As you are fairly newly diagnosed, you may not be in these ranges yet, and probably best not to get too stressed if that's the case. For some folks it can take a while to get there, and we're in a marathon, not a sprint.

It is worthwhile remembering that as you are using Gliclazide, you don't want to go too low, and certainly if you go under 4, you should be having something to eat or drink to bring your numbers up a bit. That said, if your starting numbers have been quite high, you might well feel a bit "off" when your numbers go lower, but not yet into the 4s or below. That's not unusual. It's just because your body might have got used to running a bit high.

Folks like @bulkbiker , who have been diagnosed quite a while, and importantly, not using medications, they can experience and tolerate lower numbers for a while, but for you, right now, that isn't something I would suggest you aim for.

Same advice applies, Diane. You need to take it steady. If your numbers have been very high, it can do damage to bring things down too quickly.
