Progress

My HBA1C on 11 August was 49 and my doctor gave me six weeks to turn this around. I have just had a repeat set of bloods and my HBA1C is now 42 (just inside pre diabetic) and my fasting blood glucose was 5.4mmol/l. Whilst I would have preferred my HBA1C to be below 42 and therefore in the normal range, I am pleased that I have made this much progress in just six weeks by adopting a low carb diet and increasing my exercise. I will be keeping this up and hope that by the time I have my next blood test that I will be comfortably within the normal range. I was really shocked six weeks ago and so worried about my future health, but now I feel much better and have lost over a stone too. Thanks to this forum I have completely adjusted my attitude to food, for good!

That's great progress, Lizzy. Hopefully, in a few more weeks you might have made further progress.

Fingers crossed for you.

Well done! That is a vast difference in six weeks, hope your doctor was impressed! I'm starting with an A1c of 42 (I'm prediabeteic) and have only made small progress so far but I have been reading this forum for a couple of months now and there is so much help and encouragement from the regulars here I am really hopeful now instead of despairing. Keep up the good work!
