Hi, my name is Krasy(from Bulgaria).
For the past 3 years, I started to gain weight. From 105kg to 149kg. As the last 20 kgs are from this year.
I was advised to check my blood sugar levels as the usual physical activity and food limitations didn't help
I started keto with fasting protocol and for 2 months helped me a lot (10kgs down)
Meanwhile, I checked, and seems I am pre-diabetes (6.2 fasting glucose).
So here I am to know more about it and to talk with people who are or been on my route.

p.s. I had hypoglycemia last week, so I have what to learn ;-)

Hi @krasytod , and welcome to the forum!

Did you test your blood glucose when you had hypoglycemia?

Thank you.

Yes. "Normal" value of 5.2 (15-20 minutes after the symptoms started). According to the information I found a person with a higher BG level for a long time can experience "hypoglycemia" when tries to control glucose. At least what I am thinking.

Yes. When your body is used to high blood glucose, a lower but healthy BG can feel like a hypo, including all the nasty reactions.
It's called a 'false hypo', and if your body gets used to lower numbers you won't have those symptoms anymore :)
In the mean time, I would leave it if you aren't feeling too horrible but eat a very small amount of carbs if you are feeling horrible with your false hypos.

Being a T1 on insulin, I experience 'real' hypos (symptoms + low BG), but I find a mild hypo is often sufficiently treated with just two bites of an apple or a single bite of bread or such.

Getting those false hypos sounds like you're on the right track diet-wise!
Did they test your hba1c as well as fasting BG? It's much more informative as to where you stand!

"Did they test your hba1c as well as fasting BG? It's much more informative as to where you stand!" Our labs here are working primary for Covid patents. I tested my self with a BG monitor (As I was planning KETO+OMAD for losing weight, I wanted to know my BG and ketones)

Seems a sensible approach to me, but please keep in touch with your HCP if you can!

(If you want to quote someone on the forum, you can select the part of the text you want to quote, like I did above, and a little 'reply' button appears. If you click the button the quote will appear in the reply box, and the quoted member will get an alert (Little flag at the top right of screen), very handy!)
