Foods allowed safe

It will depend on the vinegar: if you're buying a jar, read the nutritional information and see what the carbohydrate per 100 is. If you are making them yourself, check the vinegar. Pickled foods are quite unpredictable- they can be very low-carb or surprisingly high, depending on the vinegar.

-I'm looking at some jars online now, and it says Van Smirren brand is 1.3g carbs per 100, so that would probably be ok for me.
Parsons brand is also 1.3g. Looks OK.
Spinnaker brand is 3.6g per 100, which isn't terrible, but it's starting to go up.

Probably best to try some then test afterwards, but they look at least ok from what I can tell.

When I first got told I had diabetes.

I was lost, but then I found a channel on you tube called beat diabetes and Dennis on the host preaches test, test, test.

So basically Get a notebook, Then start of low carb and write done what you eat. Then Test your blood sugar 30, 60 and 90 mins after eating.

I did this for a month and I got a picture very quickly of when made my blood sugar go up and roughly when.

It is great after while you don't need to test so much as you get a picture in your head of works for you.

I found I can eat certain fruits which I would have avoided if I hadn't test my blood sugar.

I still find potatoes and bread send my blood glucose levels up but not as much as they use. As you may find like I did with the drop in weight your insulin sensitivity improves and you can add certain carbs back in to you diet occasionally.

The other thing I recommend is, if your going out for a meal or want a treat meal, skip breakfast that day and eat very light the day before and it wont have to big an effect of blood sugars.

Cockles in vinegar were a treat for me as a kid.. With a bit of pepper? :)

There are far worst foods one can snack on.
