Is it real that statins cause increses in baseline glucose (never know nowdays with false info)

The statins HAVE increased my baseline to about 6.5/7.0 mmol (finger prick)
So i bought freestyle libre again (after 2 years gap to see if it was any better)

I think i am inconpatible with this device
1st sensor always said 3.8mmol and was very sensitive to pressure (lying down back of arm weird idea)
2nd sensor seems to be flatlined at bout 7.8mmol and is about 1.5 higher than finger prick strange devices

wasted £100 again (it was doing this to me years ago) no change seems i am incompatible

Due to stroke it seems i have no option but to accept statins and ask my doctor to go back on metformin

Im sure everyone out there thinks libre is great so im glad for that

Just a quick post wanted to vent i guess :¬)

Hi,

Regarding the Libre. Are you using the new Libre 2 or the earlier MK1 Libre?
Resently I've been using the L2 & it appears consistently more accurate to my meter.
(I'm usually happy if both are within 0.6Mmol.)

If you scan then wait 20 minutes before a finger prick test, how close are the results?
There can be a 20 minute lag with a BG meter..

Hope this helps.

thanks great idea :¬) - it was libre 1
i will give it ago with libre2

it depends on what sensor some they all read very very different

ill try libre2 :¬)

thanks

Oh, almost forgot. If you are having pressure issues sleeping on it?

Try placing it inside the arm.. Less chance of knocking it too..

It's where I place mine. You do need to make sure you don't hit any muscle tissue.
& be a little mindful if yer a "huggy" type.. ;)

Last post just wanted to thank you all for your ideas

I just bought 2x freestyle libre version 2 from abbott
i will place them on the inside of my arm so i dont get pressure errors

If this dont work ill give up (again) :~) :~)

jsut tested the 2nd old version 1 sensor and its a joke 8.1mmol almost all day and 5 finger procks ranged 4.9 -> 5.8
so old T1 sensors hate me :~)

Byeee have a nice weekent all
