Dexcom free trial

I started using the Dexcom G6 yesterday afternoon and it kept telling me I was hypoing below 2.8 mmol/l every couple of hours even though my blood sugars were above 5 mmol/l. I added calibrations, but too many as now it has errorred and stopped working. I phoned Dexcom and they are sending me another. I am to add a single calibration and just ignore the data for the first couple of days as it settles. Adding too many calibrations will kill it. Here I thought it would be better than the Libre? Anyone else experienced this?

I've just managed to get it working on the X-drip, but not the Dexcom iphone app. :)

They can go like this if you are dehydrated

Never calibrate in the first 12 hours…. Never calibrate more than a 20% difference

Never calibrate when higher than about 9mmol…. Never calibrate when you bg is anything other than stable

I haven't started mine yet.. Too much work on & no time to play. Much easier to slap on a sensor I'm comfortable with & crack on...

Weirdly I had a sales rep from Dexcom ring me whilst I was at work, today. Trying to make "small talk."
He then said he'd email me when I told him I was a little tied up to talk right now.. "Bing." He did no sooner than we hung up..
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm finding them a little "full on" what with the emails & all.

Lol, I'm starting to feel like I'm being "stalked?"

The reason the give you and expensive transmitter and sensor is so that can try and sign you up

Once you’ve tried it and you say no not interested you can be removed from the mailing list

The only contact I’ve ever had from the is my boxes turning up

Oh and abbot do the same with libre… in fact Abbott have sold my data and I’m getting calls from other companies

Don't think it matters what machine I use my blood sugars are flawed whatever I do. Rather go back to checking my blood sugars 4 times a day and not knowing how bad they are in-between. Stopped caring now.

I’m a bit like that… don’t really care

But I’m on a pump so the dex makes that work…. But it feels lime I’m constantly changing sensors and cannulas

Inserting the sensor is very easy but adding the reusable transmitter to the sensor can be a bit fiddly (make sure to press it down firmly)

I wish I'd read this first! I received the Dexcom and completely messed it up by pressing the rounder end of the transmitter into the slot first which left the thinner end (which is supposed to go in first), sticking up. Couldn't do anything with it after that. Erm...are you also saying the little transmitter is REUSABLE??? That went in the bin.

The transmitter lasts 3 months enough for 9 sensors

I had the same, numerous emails saying 'How you getting on, and how's it going etc' which I didn't mind, I eventually decided to try it after a libre ran out but completely messed up the application and binned it. Now they're saying 'we see you used it' and are asking me did I like it etc and I'm too mortified to tell them erm......

To be fair, I've no doubt Dexcom's customer service is good.

I've just not had this attention from Abbott. & kind of prefer it that way.

You have my word when I eventually plant this thing, I will read the "destructions.." :)
I basically need time out to binge on all things Dexcom. Before I rip the lid off the box.

Hi,
Abbott are the same to be fair with the "Libreview" account & wot not?
Lol, I put in for thier L2 promotion & they politely turned me down, they knew I've tried it before.
Ironically, I now get the L2 on script.

Regarding the Dexcom. I'd like to give it a fair crack of the whip.?

I got something from Abbott.. used a different surname at my mums address

2 years later I’m getting calls on my mobile asking if its Mr George

And I know Abbott is the only company had that name

Morning Searley,

I completely agree where you're coming from.
"CD-ROMs" with personal data changing hands for sums of money. Though I believe the GDPR "thing" has meant to change all that?

I try to avoid using my mobile number. But with Dexcom it was an astriixed mandatory field.
I should have treated it like a dodgy "pick up" in a bar & changed a didgit. ;)
