xDrip update

Hi,
Just had this notification pop up, in the year I've been using XDrip I've not had anything like this appear.
(I'm not very tech savvy) should I update?
I'm using a Samsung galaxy s8, Libre 1 with miao miao 2.
Hopeful that someone can advise?

There was a new update to the iOS version yesterday, so it may be genuine.
 
This is only a new Beta version. Beta versions are effectively non release and available for testing. If you join the xDrip Facebook group this is explained (and announced).

Hi,

I recently acquired a galaxy Note 9 after finding my last phone really glitchy, overheating (even in this weather.) & full of builder's dust.
I also recently moved back to using Xdrip.. After finding Diabox flawless on the last phone & changing over to the Libre 2.
I've seen this crop up on install.. To be frank. If you have no issues with the xDrip version you already have using your set up of L1 & MM2?

If it ain't broke... No need for fixes. ;):)

I've no doubt it's on the level.. These xdrip boffins are constantly tinkering.
 
I did see a post on the FB group indicating a new beta coming..

I run the alpha nightlies without issue.. BUT if all is running and you are happy then don't apdate


Just go into setting and update settings and under channel just select stable tried and tested... this will stop notification for beta releases

I've joined the FB group. I'll probably just ignore the update as it's all working okay at the moment.
When I'm in the mood I might follow Searley's advice (thanks),
I find all the inner workings on xdrip a little overwhelming and I know just about enough to make it work with alerts set!
(Also need to work out how facebook works...)
Everyday's a school day!

I only use xdrip for the alerts... and it can send sms messages with location... so if it works don't update especially to a beta as something could break
