I know some members have turned off the PM function because of anxiety issues but of course mod and admin PMs go through that barrier. I hope it isn't being sent to members who turned off the PM function.
I have PM's turned off, it stops getting spammed by other members wanting to chat etc. However this does not apply to stopping PM's from The Administrators and Moderators from PMing me because that's the way the forum software is.

You will see that survey you are all talking about, I only get that if I get logged out. You do have choices, ignore or complete it.

I have a new gripe which has made an old gripe rear its ugly head again.

I don't want push notifications so have pressed the 'don't ask me again' tab. I do still want email notifications of Pms. These are now being delayed, where they used to be sent instantly I received the PM. I once belonged to a small forum where the notifications were delayed in the same way. I hope this isn't going to be permanent.

The old gripe: I joined the Low Carb Program right at the very beginning. All went well for over a year or so, and then I couldn't login to it. I did send emails and PMs but nothing was ever done about it. I wasn't too bothered as I was only in there to help others and if my help wasn't wanted anymore then that was OK. However, I have recently started getting emails from Louise from the Low Carb Program. I do not wish to receive these or belong to the Low Carb Program any longer, so I would be grateful if you could stop sending me the emails and remove my name from the Low Carb Program, but keep me here in the forum. I haven't bothered asking before I didn't want to risk my account here being closed in error! The unsolicited emails from Louise are an annoyance I no longer wish to have, and I can't cancel them myself as I can't login to the Low Carb Program. I have already made sure that in 'Preferences' the 'Received news and update emails' and the 'receive activity summary email' boxes are unchecked for the general forum, but this doesn't stop the ones coming from the Low Carb Program.

I hope you can help, perhaps it will be easier to do now we have this shiny new forum. :)
I’ll be honest with you.. Any emails I don’t want. Get directed to the spam box. That way I can deal with the “band stuff” or when I make a purchase online tracking a delivery. I tailor the “focussed” messaging in my personal email inbox for me..

I started getting adverts yesterday, strange as others were getting them before then. If anything can be done about them I would be grateful. I don't get them from any other site.

That's odd, the adverts on this site should have completely disappeared (and have for me).
Are you able to post a screenshot of the kind of adverts you are getting?
Do you use the app or your browser?

Are others getting adverts as well?

I get emails from Louise trying to sell me half price membership etc. She's a bit late.
I guess you should be able to unsubscribe from the emails?

@zand , did you mean you get advertisements for the forum (through email or such) or advertisements on the forum for all kinds of random things?

On the forum for random things. One was a bit scary. I had the thought yesterday that maybe I should clean my oven. Didn't do anything about it, didn’t Google oven cleaner or anything...then this morning I get an ad for oven cleaner. The site is phishing my mind! :hilarious:

What about waiting and seeing for a couple of days to see if it either goes away or others start to report advertising again as well?
Then let us know if it doesn't go away and I'll alert someone higher up, should they have missed this message.

No, as I use a VPN called Block This.
The idea is not having any advertisement on the forum for anyone.
Perfectly fine if you use an ad blocker but you shouldn't get advertisements without, so if it happens we want to inform the tech team because it means something is going wrong.

Add blockers have never been necessary in the past.

Yes, I first saw them yesterday. If that continues, I won't be looking into the forum so often.

I have just turned the vpn Block This off, and scrolling down there were several adverts but I picked this one to post here.

Now this seems to be something that should be stopped.

It shouldn't continue because the tech team has already worked on it and we thought the issue was solved.

I have no idea what causes you and some others to see advertisements still, I'll alert head office to it though.

I have used ad blockers for years but noticed the ad blocker icon has said that it has blocked stuff all that time.
I guess this could have been pop ups advertising something on diabetes.co.uk but it has still be ads of some sort.

Perhaps its to do with the browser/platform being used? Mine disappeared when tech said the problem had been solved.
