I have been taking Imatinib after a successful removal of a GIST in January and my blood sugars have gone up to 7-8 in the mornings (was 5-6). Anybody else have any experience of this? Thanks

Hello @Adrian61 welcome
Sorry I've got no personal experience of imatinib, I had to resort to Google to see what sort of med it is.
Causing raised sugar levels doesn't seem to be listed as a common side effect. I did come across something that suggested it might have the opposite effect.
Here's the link https://www.ajmc.com/view/scientists-find-accidental-cure-for-type-2-diabetes-imatinib no idea how legitimate the research is.
Illness, stress, poor sleep and of course our diet can all cause higher levels. If you give us an idea of what a typical day's food is, we may be able to make some suggestions for changes that could help.

Thanks catinahat, I knew my diabetes’ medication (Janumet 50/850) could help the efficacy of the Imatinib but unaware of the positive effects the other way around.

The reason I was asking is that I have changed nothing in my diet or lifestyle so thought it might be the new drug.

Sometimes it's our insulin resistance that changes (gets worse), and our ability to process the carbohydrates in our diet suffers.
That's why most Dr's consider T2 to be a progressive condition requiring ever increasing amounts of medications.
A few tweaks to to our diets, cutting down on carbs as much as possible. Is quite often all that's needed to avoid any extra medication and their possible side effects.
