Libre and libre 2

Hi all
A friend that has now been put on continuous pump and diferent cgm has kindly given me two libre sensors that she hadn’t used (probably past use by date , but for my purposes absolutely fine). I’ve been buying libre 2 and using the app on my phone to scan them. Will the same app work to scan the first libres or do I need to get hold of purpose made unit to scan?

Hi, you’ll be able to use the same app on the phone for the libre sensors too (if it’s the LibreLink app)

just to note that the original libre sensors will no longer be available after the end of 2022. According to Abbott

But if you have some to "use up", the app will not suddenly stop scanning a Libre 1 sensor as Big Ben starts chiming at midnight on 1st January 2023

Just make sure u change prescription to libre 2 before the “ bells” chime
