OOPS!! Going backwards...

I've just had my latest blood test & HbA1c results, and as my meter predicted. I'm suffering a slight case of going backwards from my all time low of 38 last summer back up to 44.

My only excuse is that I'm doing battle with arthritis and oedema which are causing me more pain and aggravation than my diabetes ever has, and this together with a little bit of sorry-for-myself-comfort-eating means my glucose levels are joining in and playing bouncy bouncy as a result.

One consolation though is that we've had a big staff turnover at the surgery and my recent dozy DN has now happily been replaced by a new nurse who appears to be au fait and OK with low carb diets and thinks my result is fine.

Sounds like a very small rise under the circumstances. Good news on the nurse front!

I'm working on the basis that what goes up has usually come back down again, though maybe I'll not go quite so low.

And I think my nurse was as pleased to find a keen low carbing patient as I was to find a new DN who's an enthusiastic supporter. :)
