Thank you for your reply much appreciatedpersonally I just carry on as normal , never really noticed any difference , I don’t always take my Basel at the same time any way so for me an hour isn’t going to matter .and seeing as Basel is taken before meals thats not really affected
It's only an hour difference for your long acting.Hi
I am newly diagnosed type 1 and wondered what to do regarding the clock changing at the weekend and insulin ? Any suggestions that can help .. sorry if it’s a silly question
Thanks
Thank you for your reply I may well try that . I am also on Tresiba .It's only an hour difference for your long acting.
In most cases, and depending on the insulin you use, this won't be a noticable difference.
If you're worried about it, what about doing your insulin half an hour later for a couple of days, and then do the other half hour?
What basal insulin are you on?
Levemir is quite 'skitty', you may notice a very small difference, but only if you're very stable I'd think.
Lantus/abasaglar is more forgiving, I'd be surprised if you'd even notice a difference from injecting an hour earlier or later.
I'm on Tresiba, the steadiest, and I take it before bed. Which can be anything between 11PM and 5AM without noticing a difference.
Thank you for your reply, it’s much appreciated.Keep calm & carry on as normal. If you are not working on a Sunday? Kick back relax & wake an hour later.
With my years of experience using a basal like Lantus. It’s not a catastrophe forward or back..
