Type 1.5 Leg injury now sugars raised

Hi I’m away from home and I dropped a wooden shelf on my shin at 8.30 am and the bruise has gone around my leg now! My sugars have raised to 18 and worried. I’ve injected twice - no food yet.
I’m on Novorapid and Tresiba at night.

Please don't just ignore this. Some bruises are unsightly and the rise in blood sugars are a reaction to the shock, but others need MUCH more attention.

Glad to hear you're dropping, but keep an eye on a possible hypo with the insulin you have on board now.

Let us know how you are, I hope your leg will heal quick and your BG starts to behave again shortly!

I have no idea on if a bath is good or bad with a bruise, but it's definitely good for the soul and to wash off dust from the fair!

Rest, Ice, compression, elevation. Warm bath isn't good. Icing immediately you had banged it would have been good.

Maybe have the bath with the hurt leg on the edge (elevation) and a bag of frozen peas on top?
Soothe the leg and the soul at the same time.

I did a cold compress after I’d done it but the pressure hurt and for some reason escalated the sugars. I’m now 7.5 after the bath with lavender drops and yes legs elevated. Thankyou all

Yep it’s biggest bruise I’ve ever had! Bath was good lol
