Freestyle libre2 reader says sensor has ended, replace sensor and scan again. However, phone still works with sensor but without alarms because sensor was started with reader. Sensor was only 1 day old when message received. Anyone got any ideas as to what has happened or advice on what to do?

I would suggest calling Abbott. Unfortunately they will not be available until tomorrow.

If you start the sensor with your phone you will only receive alarms on your phone provided your phone isn't one that have had issues with alarms not working. My Samsung S20+ alarms do not work since the update to Android 13.
The same is true if you start the sensor with the reader, the alarms will only work with the reader. Whichever way you start the sensor, both units can be used to scan the sensor.
If your sensor fails before it naturally comes to an end, then contact Abbott and report it. Do not discard the failed sensor, as Abbott will send you a replacement sensor along with a reply paid envelope to return the faulty sensor.
