Hi everyone. I’ve posted a few weeks ago about my blood sugar being out of control. I take Metformin modified release Tablets 500mg 4 tablets a day. 2 in the morning and 2 in evening. And then I have Gliclazine 80mg 2 times a day. My blood sugar got down to 9.0 to 17.0. I have sea food 2 times a week and my sugar drops to 3.2 to 3.8. My specialist is made up with that.
Now this is the scary part.
My blood sugar nurse wants me on a new tablet and come off the Gliclazine. This was over the phone. She informed me that this tablet as 2 bad side effects.
The first is. Stomach upset and appetite. I had this already with the Metformin so they change that to a slow release tablet ( Sukkarto ).
The second is ( rarely ). It may cause gangrene between the legs. I told her already I don’t want my plums turning green and falling off. So she said they will talk about this when I see my new specialist
All my life I haven’t heard of a tablet that may cause gangrene. I know it’s like 1 in a ( whatever) but it’s like adding numbers to a lottery. You may win the jackpot or you may not lol
Does anyone know the name of the tablet she talking about.
