I have a self funded Dexcom One which I’m becoming more frustrated with.
My last sensor averaged level was around 9mmol/L with many readings in the low 7s and high 6s and spent more time in my target area. My latest sensor is constantly reading 11+. My food is not widely different. When I check my bloods it is invariably 1-3 points different. I got the dexcom to remove the need for blood checks but I’m still doing them. Oh, btw I’m not on insulin.
Has anyone experienced these levels of fluctuation?
Has where you placed the sensor impacted your results? I wear mine on my arm but do regularly vary the position and arm.
Would appreciate any informed views you have.
Oh on a side note has anyone found any other cgm that is more accurate?

Hi I am also a dexcom one user. For ME it has been much more accurate than Libre 2. It ranges from being 0.3 to 1 mmol different to finger pricks.

I place the sensor on either of my arms or either side of my abdomen. I think it is more accurate on my arms.

I might be worth giving dexcom a call with some readings showing the difference between the sensor and finger pricks

Hope things improve

I am also using the Dexcom one self funded. I’m nearly up with my 3 month supply. I won’t be using it again as it is so inaccurate. I have had 6 replacements because they won’t warm up or giving inaccurate readings. My last sensor kept giving me lows of under 3.9 constantly. I took finger prick tests and the Dexcom was out by just over 2mmols. I end up turning the alarm off. The new one I have is now reading 1mmol higher but I have just put it on tonight.
I am prediabetic and the reason I wanted it was to see the effects certain foods have on my blood sugars. It has been good in that sense but at the cost it is not something I will carry on using.
I know other people find it okay but my experience has not been so good. I will just continue with finger prick testing when my supply runs out as it is more accurate just more inconvenien.

Have you ever wore the sensor on your thigh or stomach? I put my first sensor on my thigh as was told it should be on the arms or stomach. Readings were no different on the thigh.
