Type 2 cancer

I am type 2 and recently diagnosed with liver cancer. Anyone else with the same
I just saw your post. I’m sorry to see about your diagnosis. I’m not familiar with it though. When did you find out? I hope someone who can share with you will respond. I’ll look forward to seeing more from you. Sending healing wishes and warm thoughts your way!

Hi, sorry to read this :(

I am currently experimenting with intermittent fasting so researching (YouTube lol) a lot about it, there is something called “autophagy”. The reason I am mentioning this is, it sounds like it’s a very effective tool against cancer (also T2) so figured if you haven’t already heard of it, I highly recommend looking into it, sorry if you already know of it.

I wish you all the best and hope you beat it.

Thank you Prancy and Fenn.

How I found out was in June I was looking after my daughter's hamster while she was on holiday. As I was cleaning his cage he bit me. My swelled up and I went to A&E. They took blood tests and a few days later I received a letter from the hospital saying I had antibodies for Hep C. I was seen at the Liver Unit and given strong medication which is nearly gone. However following an MRI scan it showed I seemed to show some blockage in my bile duct and referred to the Royal London Hospital after another MRI scan and C T Scan. Went to The London who informed me they found tumours on my liver.
Following a multi-displinary meeting I was informed that I wasn't robust enough for an op or transplant. I am now having having procedures to ascertain whether I will be able to have chemo. This has all happened in 3months. Hats off to the NHS.

Hi Hat Annie,
Thanks for sharing your incredible story. It boggles the mind! Can you get a second opinion? I’m not from UK, so I’m not sure how this works. I certainly hope you can get treatment options. I hope a positive prognosis will follow. This is a lot for one to process. Do you have someone to help you and support you in this time. How are you feeling? I’ll continue to send you lots of warm wishes and healing thoughts.

Thank you so much Prancy for your kind message. I have a lot of family nearby including my two daughters. I am still in shock especially as I have no pain. The doctor said the tumours are slow growing. Being a diabetic doesnt help. I try to take a day at a time. I live in a retirement complex and the other residents have been really kind.
My husband passed away with cancer last year and I am still grieving over his loss so it isnt easy. I have different moods throughout the day. I just hope I can get the chemo.
Yes it would be lovely to hear from you x

I’m so sorry about the loss of your husband. You have had a rough time. There might also be support groups consisting of other patients with the same condition. Sometimes, knowing others share the experience helps. Please post updates as you feel like it. Glad you have no pain.

Thank you.
I attend a Diabetes Support Group and we have speakers come in and give a presentation. They are interesting.
Just waiting now for my biopsy appt and then they will decide on the chemo and whether that will help.

That’s awesome. I wish they had that here. Not one that I can locate. And, it‘s a large city.

I hope there’s good news around the corner for you. I’ll pray everyday for you. I believe in the power of positive energy.

Could you start one? You would get a lot of support from Diabetes UK
I’ll consider it. I have no idea how to start. It sounds like an awesome opportunity though. At the moment, my plate is quite full trying to care for two senior parents who have medical issues. As soon as I can get them situated, I’ll have more free time. I also run my own business. Still, it would help a lot of people, including me.

Hi @Hi Hat Annie so sorry to read this and sending huge hugs. My husband died 2 years ago and I’m still trying to get over it although we knew it would happen but knowing that you’re never prepare.
Have you seen if you can get MacMillan support or your local hospice. I live in Lincolnshire and we have St Barnabas Hospice which were superb for us, answering any questions we had, meditation groups etc. They have a specialist team that helped my husband claim for a blue badge and investigated any care benefits we were entitled to. Well worth finding a local one to you at any stage of your diagnosis. Chin up sweetie :)

Thank you for your kind message. MacMillian were brilliant when my husband was ill. I have a MacMillan nurse attached to the London Hospital and she is very supportive. I can contact her any time. My husband passed away last year with skin and liver cancer.

I don’t know if you are aware but on their website macmillan have a forum like this where you can connect with others in the same situation.
