Hello, and welcome, @JackieB56 .

I am intriguedby your post. Want to tell us more?
Sorry everyone not used to this yet.. was typing away then it all disappeared except for 1 word. Was,saying although type 1 for 34yrs only using cgm for 1 year but glucose still rises over 13 during night sometimes. Just have 100ml of milk with my parkinsons tablet before bed but if results lower than 8 before bed I have a hypo between 2-3 am . How do others keep blood sugars level all night?

Don’t worry, you have managed to post now. The more helpful members will, hopefully, be able to offer advice.

As for the ‘jokers’ in the pack. They mean well, too.

no apologies needed , I too have found things disappearing but that’s another story all together , with regard to your night time insulin ! I had the similar problem when I was on lanctus,I only took it at night , I was changed to levimir in the morning and evening it did help my issue , not saying it’s right for everyone but it helped me ,
welcome to the club may your stay be long and fruitful.

Hi,

Are the lows on the CGM double checked using a meter? If only to rule out a “compression low…”

Lantus at 10pm
Right… Lantus.

I do Lantus (about the same time as you.) & if the dose is a little too high, the hypos can occur around the time of your lows.
They can even reoccur around 5 or 6 am? (If only treated with fast acting carbs the first time?)

The milk you drink is a good BG stabiliser for me when the Lantus is flakey. Unlike lucozade which needs constant use with a basal low.
You could try following up your milk with a digestive biscuit?

I would talk to the diabetic team regarding the overnight issues.

Best wishes.

Thanks for advice- will try. I do treat hypo with 3 glucose tabs and a digestives keep me going till breakfast but diabetic nurse said have a sandwich with my milk at bedtime which would push sugar right up and I don't want to pile on any extra weight!

Thanks for repkying
