What's the best time of day to take my Lantus?

I have raised this point of splitting Lantus dose with two of my diabetic nurses, who both said Lantus is not to be split into two daily doses. I checked with Sanofi (https://www.lantus.com/) and as their website says, once-daily?

Yet my consultant said split when I was on it.

Mine too.
It now seems to be common knowledge that Lantus does not last a full 24 hours so splitting it helps provide the overlap in the gap.

I also split Lantus. It works so much better for me. 50/50.
