Hi,
I have just found this forum when researching travelling with Diabetes on Google. I am wondering if any of you can help me or give me advice...
I am 21 years old and have had Type 1 Diabetes for 19 years, I will be finishing university next year and I am considering going travelling for a year or 3 months (undecided) around California with my boyfriend, we will be moving around all different areas and will be camping a few nights in a row. I am worried how I can go travelling with just a backpack with Type 1 Diabetes. I have an insulin pump so I will need to take my insulin vials with me along with all my needles, reservoirs, lancets, strips etc.
How can I fit all this in a backpack along with my clothes and toiletries & how can my insulin last for up to 3 days when I am camping.
I hope there are ways around it as I don't want my diabetes to stop me from travelling to a place I've always wanted to go too!
Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
