"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Sausages for breakfast - using up the last of a pack that went out of date a couple of days ago.

2nd meal will be spiced chicken breast with some cauliflower and coconut rice. I want to try to work out how a spicy Indian chicken dish was made that I tasted a few weeks ago.

I will be trying/developing other Brussels sprout recipes. This particular one appealed because there was a higher proportion of bacon (yum!) and they looked attractive, especially when served on individual cocktail sticks.

I was going to try another bacon/sprouts variation today but both hubby and I are suffering some cold/flu illness so it was crackers and pate for lunch (he had rolls) and pizza for tea (fat head dough for me). Hoping we make it to the Remembrance service tomorrow, but it is mainly outside so might not.

We had a fun evening, interesting and sometimes confusing conversation when his mind made some odd jumps to sidetracks that to him were a completely logical part of the subject and to me fully unrelated. He easily got back on track though when I pointed out why he didn't make sense. He also wondered if there really were micro cameras in his wall or if this was the psychosis but agreed with me it was most likely the psychosis.

Very interested in my diabetes management, and quite knowledgable as well on metabolism. He studied medicine when he was young until he mentally crashed during his internships towards the end of his study.

All in all, a very enjoyable evening but we won't be having a second date.

Well, an interesting evening certainly, but without a working diagnosis (such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia for instance) it's as well there are no plans to meet again.

I do own a very nice axe, but I doubt introducing myself to an already mildly paranoid date with an axe at the ready would make a good start of a date.

That, or knitted socks in sandals, which would make oneself seem most attractive to a new date I wonder?

Well, an interesting evening certainly, but without a working diagnosis (such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia for instance) it's as well there are no plans to meet again.

Oh, he has a long standing diagnosis or two, regular contact with his psychiatrist, and regular adjustments to his medication depending on how he's doing.
I'm quite sure I can add adhd to his complex set of mental health issues based on at least 3 different clues during one evening of dating, and I don't understand how this has never been discussed with him.

However, mental or physical health issues are not a reason for me to write someone off as relationship material. It's just that I'm not attracted to him, much as I like him as a person.

Psychiatrists are sometimes reluctant to treat ADHD in patients with psychosis @Antje77. There's a risk that psychostimulants will worsen psychotic symptoms.

I wore the one pair of socks I knitted myself from the wool of my neighbour's sheep Nieske. I first learnt to spin wool, then learnt to knit, then learnt to knit socks, knitted the socks from this precious wool and believed I would spend the rest of my life wearing socks I made myself starting with the sheep.
Started a second pair and lost interest long before finishing now I knew how to do it, so that one pair is unique, and I only wear it on special occasions.

Definitely my sexiest pair of socks and I'm hopeful to catch someone just as cool as I am with them!

Today should have been endive mash (cauliflower) but I forgot to defrost the meat and it was the yearly very festive spelling test on the radio and I wanted to write along so I had a toastie with ham and cheese instead.
Eleven mistakes, more than I like but better than most so I'm not complaining too much. Except for one word, the spelling doesn't make sense and I can't believe their official version is right.

For breakfast I made a frittata with half a red onion and some ready cooked salmon. Used 3 eggs but only had half of the frittata. Another half left for tomorrow.

2nd meal will be the remainder of the chicken and cauli rice from yesterday.

I was going to try to knit socks and bought wool and a couple of patterns to remind me how I used to make them but never did get around to it. I might have to do something soon because I've been trying to get some of those old-fashioned fisherman style wellington boot hose (white Aran style wool) but can't get them anywhere. Trouble is - every time I start knitting, I fall asleep. Loved the pic of Antje's socks.

Whatever this is its different to just a cold. Been hearing today of so many friends being poorly with what they describe as a dreadful heavy cold. In me it's more in my throat and chest than head and nose. Seems to be getting the men worse.

B: ff greek with blackberries and seeds
L: 2 egg cheese and ham omelette. A berry bake
Did get to lidl for a much needed shop, with hubbys help
D: beef mince with onion and mushroom, carrot, brussels. A berry bake. A glass red wine

Same here - I've had this cold for most of this week. 2nd one in a month. Throat and chest more than a head cold. Neil gave me some Echinacea pills which have been very helpful in dealing with the symptoms, but of course, the cold itself is still hanging on.

Met a man today at a weight loss class. He's 59 and looks to be as old as me - actually looks older than I do. A couple f years older than Neil but looks much, much older than Neil does. Good genes, I suppose. Anyway, this man is well overweight, diabetic, smoker and has the most awful diet I have ever heard of - black pudding and fried egg rolls for breakfast every day, hates vegetables, hates fruit but eats loads of carbs. Gets through 100 cans of diet Coke a week, hates water, hates fruit juice. On the advice of the diabetes nurse he forces himself to eat a banana every day. I did suggest that he might be better to replace the daily banana with a different fruit and maybe reduce the white bread and potatoes. But he wasn't having that. I didn't push it - he was clearly not intending to listen to me or the nurse running the class.

Same here @Annb, Knitting is so relaxing. Hand me a pair of knitting needles after dinner and, unless there's a riveting programme on the radio, I can guarantee I'll be well away within minutes!

Yes, there are some debilitating virus infections circulating @MrsA2. Try to get a good night's sleep and plenty of rest during the day.

Neil gave me some Echinacea pills which have been very helpful in dealing with the symptoms,

We're using a local remedy. The beekeeper makes a pungent concoction of honey, garlic, onions, ginger, herbs, spices and lemons. Smells so awful you have to be really ill to swallow it, but it works. Really soothes the throat.

Bg is having to be ignored as it's honey. I'm limiting myself to max 3 teaspoons a day
