This forum has been invaluable to me I have lost over a stone in weight and levels are stable. Next blood test in Jan 25 all through sticking to low carb. My BMI is 20 so where I want to be weight wise and never want to go back to an unhealthy diet
At the moment got a couple problems and worries and I'm tired. Does anyone else crave carbs or chocolate at these times?
I keep thinking just go and buy chocolate and have it than go back to what you were doing . Wanting to get it as a treat. I know this sounds silly

It's not at all silly to want comfort food when we need comforting!

I have a few "go tos"
A square or 2 of very dark chocolate, minimum 85% cocoa solids. Quite an accustomed taste so just a square or 2 is enough but certainly solves that craving
Or I make a hot chocolate drink using a heaped teaspoon of cocoa powder mixed with cold water then topped up with hot water and a single sweetner tablet and then 4-6 teaspoons double cream stirred through. May need a few more seconds in the microwave reheat. Stir well.
Or I make low carb or keto chocolate mug cake in the microwave using cocoa powder, granulated sweetner and an egg. There are various recipes on the internet.

Which brand of cocoa powder do you use out of interest

Any that is just cocoa with no added sugar. Lidl does one in packet, also supermarket own brands. If its 100% cocoa then I don't see there can be any difference

I buy a local-ish stevia sweetened milk chocolate. Also this chocolate covered almonds. They cost an arm and a leg, but helps get past all the bounty bars and chocolate bars that are everywhere in the supermarket (well, so it seems! Especially small country stores and mini markets.)

Thanks, I will have a look around
