Hi all
I am 60, Type 2 diabetic on slow release insulin with Metformin etc
I had my daily numbers well under control, averaging 6.5 daily.
Since my op, roughly the 10/02, my numbers are erratic and it takes hours and hours for them to get back under 8 after eating - easily 4 hours and sometimes not at all.
I can easily average 11 on any given day and any exercise will push my numbers very high, 14 and above.
I have of course approached my diabetic nurse and the cardiologist, but they seem very reluctant to react to this.
Has anyone else seen this before, should I be more assertive in asking if I should up the daily dose of insulin?
My concern is the cycle of diabetes and heart attacks I have had, I thought I was under control but this shows how fragile that control can be.
