Bolus Insulin

When injecting before eating does any one really wait for 10 to 15 minutes before they eat or just eat as soon as it ready after injection ??Trutapi 4 u
 
i did MOST of the time.. however it was not always possible nor practical. if i was lower than 'desired' i wouldn't wait at all. you can look up graphs of the half lifes of various insulins and their forms to see how the insulin in general is used and how quickly it can take effect. I'll try find the thread in a wee bit. If its more for when eating out, you can ask waiters if possible to check with the chef how long a dish at that point of time would likely take. If eating outside and its very busy (eg xmas) expect delays etc so you may choose to just wait until served (depending on what your levels are...and the effect on the insulin on your sugars).
