Hello, I'm a type 2 diabetic. My current medication includes Metformin and Humalin M3 insulin which I have been using twice daily (morning and evening) for some years now. Following a recent diabetes review with my GP and diabetic nurse, they wish me to change from Humalin to Toujeo once a day and Trurapi three times daily with food. I wonder if anyone has experience of of these insulin's, and could advise me of any positive experience with said medications, or any problems encountered. Thanks in anticipation.

I use both of them, always have done
Trujeo at 42 units once a day
Trurapi 5 units 4 x a day
not had many side effects other than occasional false hypos
otherwise been fine with them
also use 1 metformin a day

humalin m3 premixed fast and slow acting. changing should allow for greater level of control. you could be prescribed cgm (if dont already have) as multiple daily injections. worth asking if not prescribed already :)

ask about education programme if can sign up to which should help you change dosages according to your requirements instead of relying on dsn/endo (but feel free still to ask them any questions or if just simply wanting to double check).
