I enjoy black tea M&S Empress Grey, plus green tea Lidl finest, and black coffee plus black coffee with mushroom. The coffees work just as well with cream, which I love, but I'm trying to keep the calories low.
Per 100ml, whole milk contains approximately 3.0-3.5g of protein and 4.6-5.0g of carbohydrates, with the exact values varying by brand and type. Skimmed and semi-skimmed milk will have similar or slightly different values.
I was drinking tea on and off all day though, with a fair amount of milk in it. Not just one or two tablespoons. I think I'll pour out a pint in a separate jug then include that in the carb total for the day.How big is the real impact of milk in your tea? A friend of mine had a similar discussion with his dietician once about drinking a couple cappuccino's in the morning with full fat milk. The small amount of milk shouldn't really tip the scales?
Google says:
The green milk, is it semi skimmed? But I love jersey milk so that's an idea! This may sound daft, but what type of milk do you use? Full fat is a (tiny) bit lower in carbs than semi/skimmed and Jersey/Guernsey whole milk lower again
Yes,I think this is the way to go. With whatever kind of milk, just measure some into a wee jug and use that only.I honesty think that those little carbs in tea over the day add up, for me they do anyway. I have had to cut down to 3 cups a day now with cows milk.
Or what I have started to do if I fancy more of a tea day, is half Alpro and then a splash of cows milk. Seems to work for me and I do keep it in a little jug in the fridge, that way once its gone its gone for that dayYes,I think this is the way to go. I used to get this and forgot all about it!! We liked it -thank you! Think it was costing too much, but right now something desperate needs to be doneHi, I buy lactofree semi skimmed milk, tastes like normal milk and it's lower in carbs. It's got 2.6 gms carbs per 100 mls. Currently on offer at Tesco, it keeps well.
0 carbs for the unsweetened, check Waitrose, for some reason I am unable to link itIs Alpro lower carb? and does it taste like milk??
You're welcome .I used to get this and forgot all about it!! We liked it -thank you! Think it was costing too much, but right now something desperate needs to be done![]()
I'll try it. We were on Oatly for a while and that tastes nice but is about half the carbs. The daft thing is the more stressed I get about the weight, the more cups of tea I tend to drink0 carbs for the unsweetened, check Waitrose, for some reason I am unable to link itFor me it has a sort of nutty taste.
Problems are always sorted in our house with a cuppaI'll try it. We were on Oatly for a while and that tastes nice but is about half the carbs. The daft thing is the more stressed I get about the weight, the more cups of tea I tend to drink![]()
