The latest email from Diabetes UK that has dropped into my inbox has articles about CGM / time in range so I thought this was a good moment to raise longstanding issues with Libre 2 . Any thoughts/ help would be appreciated.
1. My Libre results frequently read as much as 2 less than finger prick . Not just when results are rapidly changing ( which might just be down to different rate of change between intestial fluid and blood glucose levels) but also when steady over significant period. .
Presumably this creates a better long term Libre TIR and HbA1c than finger prick results . My Libre figures are quite good , less so with blood glucose . Relying on Libre, am I kidding myself?
Also means that I often drive with a Libre figure in 4.5 - 5.00 range . Will police accept that my blood glucose was probably 6.5 - 7. Trouble is only evidence I have when driving is Libre figures.
2 Technical/ software queries . I ran Libre on an old IPhone 8 for several years without difficulty . I read ( and probably misunderstood ) that backup on older phones might be stopping and thought time to renew iPhone so bought IPhone 16e . Imagine my disappointment discovering brand new softwear does not run so well.
Old phone showed current figure immediately I tapped on icon . New phone shows Last 24 hours graph. Only way to get current reading is to scan again.
Old phone automatically gave figure on screen after scanning . New Phone does not, have to switch to Logbook to see latest result.
Is there any way of adjusting new display to replicate old display?
3 Annoyingly there seems no way to transfer last 90 days of data to new phone. Currently having to use both phones to build up a fresh 90 day record on new phone . Seems very odd omission - am I missing something?

Any help/ comments appreciated

Police will accept that you were 4 or above and be happy

You are allowed to drive with a bg as low as 4, the recommendation is that you should not start a journey if you are below 5

HOWEVER they can only use the evidence provided, so if your libre says you are 3.9 you CAN NOT just assume you will be ok you MUST do an actual blood test to prove you are ok

This is one of the reasons HGV drivers have very strict rules in relation to blood tests and driving

I have also found the Libre2 increasingly unreliable @Nick25 often, as you say it’s more than 2mmol below what a finger prick reading shows.
It’s not vital for me (as a T2 not on meds), but I like a CGM as it helps keep me focussed and on track. I found I was finger pricking just as much using libre2 as when I wasn’t using it at all - just to check accuracy so it was a complete waste of money.
Also I became allergic to them so it was a no brainer to stop.
I now use Dexcom system and find it much better. It doesn’t itch and if the readings go off a bit you can finger prick and use that as calibration to bring the Dexcom readings back in line.
