Any effects with changing to tresiba?

My mum, who is type 1, is about to change her long acting insulin from lantus, to tresiba. She has fairly good control of her diabetes, but the Dr said tresiba will last longer in her system and would be more stable. She's a bit nervous about changing, in case she gets blurred vision or her blood sugar becomes unstable while her body gets used to it. Has anyone here made the switch to tresiba? What have your experiences been?

I went from Lantus to Tresiba years ago, and I found the Tresiba much more stable.
I started with a slightly lower dose of Tresiba to see what would happen, but within a week I was back to my original Lantus dose.

As a bonus, the Tresiba doesn't sting like the Lantus did for me!

No.

All insulins have the side effect of possible lows of course, but this is nothing different from Lantus.
You mentioned your mum being anxious about blurry vision. Usually, blurry vision is caused by blood glucose changing quickly. If she experienced temporary blurry vision when starting Lantus, this was likely caused by her blood glucose dropping to more normal levels after her eyes had adapted to high levels. Nothing to do with the brand of insulin used, just a reaction to getting her BG back into healthy numbers.

I wouldn't expect any adverse reactions with a change to Tresiba. Personally, I never want to go back to Lantus, Tresiba is much more stable for me.
