Meters

Here is some info , provided by member @Rachox

Here’s some info on UK meters, and to be clear I have no commercial connections with any of the companies mentioned.

HOME HEALTH have the Gluco Navii, which is a fairly new model and seems to be getting good reviews.

Links to the strips for future orders:

Then they sell the older SD Code Free, details to be found here!

SPIRIT HEALTHCARE have a meter called the Tee2 + which is quite popular:

The strips are to be found here:

If there is a choice of units of measurement then ‘mmol/L’ are the standard units in the UK, ‘mg/dl’ in the US, other countries may vary.

Don’t forget to check the box if you have pre diabetes or diabetes so you can buy VAT free. (for all meters and strips)

5 packs 264086

10 packs 975833

I purchased the BetaChek C50 machine as I also used to have the accu chek mobile and couldn’t bare the thought of going back to singular test strips. My GP just added the test strips to my repeats

According to your profile you are in the UK so you should be able to get a meter and strips through the NHS.
Have you asked your diabetes nurse/endo/GP to prescribe you a meter and teststrips?
If you want/need to self fund for some reason I'd look in the above info.
Meters are cheap or free, it's the ongoing cost of the tststrips that's relevant.

Hi Megan, as others have said your DSN should be able to give you a new meter. In the past I've also phoned accu-chek and asked them for a new one and they were quite happy to give me one as it meant I would continue using their test strips, so that's an option if you wanted another accu-chek! (they tried to give me a new fancy one, but I didn't want to change my test strips :hilarious:)

I def like the idea of this as it's been so convenient not having to change strips each time and finger pricker is attached
