Hello, I joined under a different username years ago, had to re-register. 79 year old man diagnosed with Type 2 15 years ago, A1C in range, last fasting BG 116. Bothered by dry throat and dry cough. Drinking 3-4 liters of water a day helps, always a bottle by the bed, always a bottle in the car. Google searches say that this is common with diabetes, elevated BG causes dryness and thirst along with frequent urination. Just wondering what experience others have had. Thanks, MikeinMX Metformin ER 500x2, Jardiance 12.5, Losartan 25

Just a side comment, my bg meter uses mg/l. Apparently 116mg/L converts to about 6.5 mmol/L

Welcome back, Mike. It sounds like your blood sugar is fairly well controlled, so hopefully the dry throat and cough aren’t related to your diabetes. Drinking 3–4 litres a day is quite a lot though, so it may be worth mentioning the symptoms and thirst to your doctor, especially if they’re ongoing. Hope you get some answers soon.
