Hi I’m julieclarke I’ve joined to find out more about T2 diabetes

Blood sugar stays ok, blood pressure not so much. I get very uncomfortable in heat, and want to sleep more.

I eat less. Smaller portions, drink more water.
Tend to eat things that cook quickly on the hob. Had some finely chopped carrots, celery, mushroom and onion, quickly fried in a splash of oil, with some fried salmon. I had water with a slice of lemon.

thankyou what is the best way to eat when it is hot weather any ldeas i want to know
The most important thing is to keep hydrated so plenty of cool drinks. Salads and cold plates can be nice

Tonight I has a sort of Mediterranean plate with palma ham, feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumber a little bit of humus & some avocado. If you like salad then salad with any cold meat or tuna & as you do eat carbs a couple of new potatoes

I had quiche tonight with salad. When it’s really hot I don’t feel like much. I might have cold chicken, tuna mayonnaise, hard boiled eggs and cheese, with salad and maybe some new potatoes or potato salad, or just some nice bread.

I’d be asleep for hours with loads of carbs - the important thing is what it does to your blood sugars -are you still testing C2 hours after eating @julieclarke?

"They" say food that is very hydrating, like cucumber, tomatoes, watermelon.... You could make a Greek salad with the above, plus a chopped red onion and feta cheese, dressed with oregano, olive oil and lemon juice! Then if you want a bit more carbs, serve alongside a couscous salad, or perhaps with/inside a pitta bread.
