Flying Cats....

Unfortunately all the valleys are now under water and the male voice choirs have gone on strike as they say that wearing snorkles is ruining their singing x

The image of choirs wearing snorkels OMG! Aren't there some posts you wish you had double likes for? That's wonderful!

Although I am so sorry you are STILL being battered by gale force winds and that your feet are still soggy. Crikey, flying cats though? It's bad enough here when the wind gets up the chickens bums, it's like watching little old ladies being hustled along and very indignant about it too! :D

I'm in Sussex on top of a hill 242 meters above sea level and 30 miles inland, so I'd expect to see arks blowing past before we get flooded. But I am a little worried about trees blowing over onto my house or car in these high winds after weeks and weeks of rain have turned the earth round their roots to soft mud.

Kate
Goodness me Kate, you're in a very precarious position! Hope you and your property stay safe.

We're fine thanks, Beachbag. The worst damage was the dog refusing to go outside into the storm then peeing against the sofa leg :grumpy:

My collie woke up, picked up her frisbee, marched out stolidly, did her business, and marched back in (still with her frisbee clamped in her jaws)

That's a relief.....both for you and the dog! ;) We survived too tho didn't get much sleep. The sound of the wind and flying objects, (didn't see any flying cats) made Rosie very restless, consequently she's having a "lie in". Take care :)

Haha Fergus, collies are wonderful, so dependable and matter of fact about life. We know a few and they totally ignore Rosie as she does her terrier thing. Glad all is well in your neck of the woods :)

Well mud on field was up to Bess's elbows this morning (on side of hill) so heaven help those in the valley!
"Benighted Utilities" are ploughing ahead with renewing the sewer system in the village (Good luck in this weather!)

Stay safe everyone... this weather has been so wild and unpredictable. I feel blessed that we got off light in the West Midlands

Hi Beachbag, watching news hope you are holding on :) And all is well as can be. Stay safe.
Awww, thank you Johnroy, you're very kind and thoughtful :). I have never known weather such as we've experienced here today. I took Rosie for a twenty minute walk this morning but I got scared by flying debris and came home. Had a hospital appointment in town this afternoon.... dustbins, branches etc sweeping across the roads creating difficult driving conditions. I got home to see the six ft side gate swinging off it's hinges, the force of the wind having snapped the metal gate hook in half and yet more fence damage. However I'm extremely thankful that unlike certain areas of the country we are not experiencing flooding and although the lights are flickering we do still have electricity! I'm quite resilient and independent but I'm finding this constant battering by elements over which I have no control, quite stressful.......But, tomorrow is another day so fingers crossed for a better one. I hope all is well with you, and everyone here :)
Geri x
