Feeling unwell :(
Hi

I've recently been diagnosed with type 2. I originally went to the doctors with headaches and feeling tired etc...

I've already started to modify what I eat but am still getting bad headaches. I've never had migraines in the past but sometimes they do feel that bad.

I just wondered if anyone else had bad headaches and if it's something I'm eating/doing/not doing?

Thanks

Hi Coll and welcome to the forum.

If you tell us a bit about yourself and how you are trying to manage your diabetes and we will try and help.
High blood sugars may well be the cause of your headache.

Do you test your blood sugars?
Do you have any other health complaints?
Are you on any medication?
Do you exercise?
Are you keeping your fluid intake up? (Dehydration can cause headaches)

There is some information for newly diagnosed diabetics that may help.

Ask any questions and someone will get back to you.

Take care,

CC.

Thanks CC

I'm not on medication yet and have been told to modify diet and exercise etc.

I'm not on any other medication or have any other health complaints, that I know about!

I've ordered a monitor but it's not arrived as yet. The nurse said I didn't need one but after reading lots of advice on here I thought I should get one. (So not testing as yet)

Do you have any problems with your eyes? Blurred vision etc. Could be to do with your sugar levels (which you'll learn about once you start testing).

I occasionally get blurred vision but it doesn't last very long. Just a bad headache really. I do hope it's connected with my sugar levels so I can hopefully control it!

It's amazing how many things are connected to hyperglycaemia. I do hope the headaches diminish for you.

Ok... My BG today have been around high 8s but I've felt ok.

About an hour ago I got a very sudden headache and it lasted for about ten mins. I checked my BG and it was 8.0 and my blood pressure was 127/89
(I've been told to monitor my BP got a week and it has been lower during the day)

Could it be either of them/both causing a sudden headache? I had no warning but now I feel like I have a hangover :(
