If anyone knows of other research and approvals (for diabetic uses) elsewhere around the world, it might be useful to mention it on this thread, so that a body of evidence can be built up for use by anyone who wants to chance their hand at legal action against the NHS (Judicial Review ??) to authorise it judicially (maybe using EEC law to over-ride UK law).

Wow Peter, you've certainly been doing your research. It will take me some time to digest it all although I'm sure it will be very interesting. Thank you very much for all this data and the time you have taken to post it.

Amsterdam is a really lovely city! I went there not long ago, and I'd recommend it to anyone whether you wish to erm... 'indulge' in their cannabis culture or not. Plenty to do either way ;)

Sadly not anymore... They have clamped down on the drugs tourism & only Dutch nationals may frequent the "coffee shops" now..
From what I was told even the Dutch have to register for an ID card to purchase cannabis from licences outlets, which in doing so will put them on a "drug users register". So even the occasional cannabis user could ruin chances of employment or job prospects in signing up to this scheme....

That definitely isn't the case. I went in November and a friend of mine is there right now!

I was in North Holland the end of the year before last.. I went into an establishment to have a nose about for old times sake...
I had heard about this new legislation & to my surprise it had been enforced about two months previously.. The woman behind the counter couldn't sell me some if she wanted to.. Coming out the premises (clean I might add.) we got in my van & headed out of the adjacent car park.
I was stopped buy two Dutch cycle cops & questioned.. One picked up on my short term licence.. They bid me a pleasant stay & sent me on my way.
However they spotted the British plates & me & my wife leaving a dope shop.. What I was told about the ID card was by a Dutch restraint owner that evening at a campsite in North Holland who was generous enough to let me have a little foliage....

That's all I know... I by no means wish to give out misinformation or contradict Giverny.. Even as far back as 6 years ago they started checking ID as we entered such premises (passports/driving licences.) & we were all clearly over 35... Lol
I initially thought this thread was from about three years back & was surprised to see the dating more recent..

That's really weird. I think they tried to change the legislation a while ago but they reversed the decision after seeing the decline in business. Talking about it really makes me want to go again, what a lovely city Amsterdam is :)
