I am ,I exercise daily ......I usually go to bed with a reading between 5.4 and 6.4 but I can wake up with one between 6.8 and 7.8 ,that's a bit higher than I would like ,I want to avoid having to ask for insulin to control it , , Im trying to avoid any snacking before bedtime as its not good for me .
Anecdotal from a few threads on this site from peoples' experiences and I am sure I read it in a scientific paper but couldn't put my finger on it for youI did not know that fasting levels are the last to drop, my BG was 5.1mmol one morning then the next morning 6.3 how did you find that out about fasting BG last to drop, I find it fascinating.
thanks for explanationThe fasting level is the last to drop (normalise). During the night your body will use up all the glucose and your liver will provide you with more. Depending on the balance between pancreas and liver (and your resistance) this may mean you go higher as you are not process the glucose too fast. As you improve (get fitter) and decrease your resistance this will change and your levels should come down
