Last time I was at it you had to have one third of your plate filled with veg the rest could be a total of one third carb and one third protein I think. And to only eat till you are satisfied, not beyond. It worked well for me before, I lost weight and maintained it up until I was no longer able to lead an active lifestyle and turned to comfort eating. But I was eating more carbs before.Don't SW say that you can eat unlimited pasta and potatoes on their diet - do correct me if I'm wrong. Surely this can't be good for either weight loss or glucose levels?
I am following a low carb high fat diet. The SW diet is fine for low carb, but doesn't allow for high fat. Butter and lard are frowned upon. I need high fat to stop me from being hungry. I go to SW weekly, but only to be weighed. I am not following their diet at all, I just want the discipline of being weighed on decent scales every week.
Yes, it was the extra easy I followed first time I went to SW. Wasn't sure if the red diet was still on the go (or even how it actually works). Good to know it's still a choice.I follow slimming world's original diet (red) using my "syns" for fat and not having the healthy extras of carbs (which also allows for 240 more calories of fat!) The original recipes are often useful if you're low carbing as they concentrate on protein - all starchy veg have to be "synned out" - this is quite unlike their newer "Extra easy " diet which does allow for unlimited carbs. (There are actually three diets to choose from.) I find that I have to limit calories as low carbing alone does not enable me to lose much weight.
