I used my BG meter for the first time tonight. I took a reading before I ate - 5.3. I then had a pile of veg with cheese and a piece of white fish. Reading two hours later was 5.8. I am quite happy with those readings but it got me wondering.
Does everyone's blood glucose rise every time they eat anyway? Like everybody, not diabetics particularly. Is it normal for BG to rise when we eat whether we are diabetic, prediabetic or not? Also what does the test first thing in the morning prove when we have had nothing in our stomach for a good few hours? Might sound like strange questions but I was just curious.
