Diagnosed prediabetic Easter 2014. Just left to get on with it, no guidance or help from GP. Every day I'm learning something new.

5.8 then 2 coffees with sukrin sugar (stevia) and meds (as below) I get 6.3
I don't get it...
It's all incredibly mental and annoying

Obvious logical conclusion is sukrin sugar (stevia) or meds is actually putting up BG
but I guess there's other factors there
in this crazy BG world that makes no sense to me

I think it could be the coffee. But it's still below 7.8 so isnt that ok?

Caffeine is known to raise BS levels in some people.

Whilst it is under 7.8, two coffees doesn't feel much like a meal to me, for the purposes of a post prandial score.

@madusmacus - could you try the same thing tomorrow, but swapping tea for the coffee?

7.9 today. I forgot to test before my morning walk and I have noticed that sometimes it is higher after my walk. I only had 23g carbs yesterday so I suppose it must be just a blip while I am on my way back to decent readings again.

A very cold fingered (and toes) 4.6

5.5

Whoop whoop!!

8.9 this morning, and I seem to be averaging about 8.5 but that is only over 3 days as I haven't had the meter long.

Taken about 30minutes after I get up but before I have breakfast. Hopefully over the weekend I can get some straight off when I get up and see if the 30 minutes makes any difference.

6.4 :(. My fasting has been an average 6.2 for nearly 2 months now, even my preprandial has flatlined around 5.7. I'm eating well (2 hour readings usually no more than 1 above preprandial), I feel good, I'm exercising, my BP is under control, my weight is coming down, so what's left? I can start doing more short-burst high-intensity exercise on the (new) rowing machine rather than the 'brisk walk' type stuff I've been doing, other than that either my liver must just be offloading much of the time or I'm still affected by chronic low level work stress.

I know how you feel. Have you reduced protein and carbs at evening meal? Could you walk more?

It's so frustrating but hang in there xx

Thanks Deb. My lowest fastings have been after my 'normal' level of protein for dinner so it's hard to say if that is the reason or not. I already brisk walk 30-40 minutes every day, but can do more now on the rower. Work is probably a factor - where's that lottery ticket?
