I would like help with suggestions for a friend who is type 1 but also blind. She wants to go to the gym and lose some weight and tone up. I'm trying to help her but have no idea about what she should eat . the when's and how's of exercising are baffling. Walking is not effective as obviously its very slow

Not sure how much i can help but i would eat a normal healthy diet. Also have a little snack just before going to the gym and also take something to snack on if needed during session. Test bloods before/mid/after work out. To loose weight concentrate on cardio. Treadmils, handbikes, rowing machines, cross trainers are all easy to get along with. Might have to inform gym manager you are diabetic. Once you have lost the desired weight then weights and resistance machines are good for toning up. However most gyms now will guide you through the process and give advice. Also bottle of water will help lol :-B
