-naming Type 1 diabees

Bigger but not better
Hold on, hold on; I'm a couch potato glutton and I'm Type 1 so where does that leave me?;)

We are all members of a club that no-one wants to belong to there is no hierarchy of diabetes; and the OP needs to deal with their own head and not with the general public's views real or imagined.

Alternatively, we change 'Type 1 Diabetes' to Type '10 Diabetes' cos you know, it's bigger.

Bigger but not better;)

That's because most thin Type 1's are so wary of snapping, we wear padded protective underwear, thus resembling Oompah Loompahs. So that's how we don't break. Unfortunately, the side effect are that we DO bump into things a lot, and are so wide in circumference we rarely get hugs, or errr ,the other thing .;)

So really , it IS our own fault we are constantly confused with Type 2's all the time

So now having broken the code of secrecy that all Type 1's are required to swear to,- the reason I have done this and risk ritual whipping with a kipper, is to say that whether Type 1 or Type 2, we are all people underneath;)

And of course, if we "Come Out" and shed the padding - there's the possibility of hugs. And errr, the other thing :D

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!! THAT IS A SECRET. You risk being downgraded to Type 2 at the next Secret Diabetic Council meeting as well as the standard 'Kipper Chastisement'.

Shocking behaviour...

OK everyone, I lied, was only joking, there is no such thing as padded big pants, ha ha ha, and that thing in my wardrobe is just....errr....a wetsuit! It's a special wetsuit that inflates errrrr, for those that can't swim and go scuba diving!!:shifty: For kippers ! Oh and it's all Loki's fault, Loki made me do it, bad Signy, naughty Signy! Errrrr, Loki! Loki!........:nailbiting::nailbiting:

(Muffled sounds of screaming and feet being dragged along the floor.... then silence....then a gentle swiiish swiiiiish as Dillinger strops a kipper ....)

Ooo errr... Sounds like type 1s do see some interesting action, after all... Just be careful about breakages!

Mustard and dill sauce is also good with kippers
- When you've finished tenderising it, of course.

I think it might be useful for you to also educate yourself about the different types of diabetes, rather than rely on ignorant misinformation about type 2 diabetes, and lumping us all together as "coach potato gluttons"...

If you find it offensive to be lumped under this description, then how do you think that slim and otherwise healthy type 2s feel when a supposed fellow diabetic attaches this label to them?? Do you actually believe it's any less stressful for them??

Robbity
Well said, I agree totally, I am a dreaded type 2, now on insulin because my pancreas has given up the ghost, I have 3 brothers and a sister who are all greedy unhealthy Type 2's actually they are not, they are people who unfortunately have the misfortune to have a genetic code which makes them prime candidates for Type 2 diabetics, my late mother was also a diabetic, and her sister too, so I suppose that our whole family must have been couch potatoes for generations. It would be nice if all of the hype being touted at the moment acknowledged that Diabetes is sometimes not a choice, especially in relation to Type 1's but also for Type 2's, Everyone who has this condition should band together and support each other'
